Attend General Meetings

SOF hosts general meetings open to all students on Mondays from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. You can also coffee chat with a member of our Executive Board to learn about their experience in SOF.

Written Application

Complete your initial application by answering a few written prompts. Applications are currently closed and will re-open for Spring 2025 on February 9th.

First Round Interviews

These interviews are a chance for SOF’s Executive Board to get to know you past your resume and initial written application.

Second Round Interviews

These interviews will be group-structured interviews where we evaluate your decision-making and ability to work with a team.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • SOF accepts new members at the beginning of every Fall and Spring semester. Once accepted, candidates go through SOF's 8-week Leadership Development Program (LDP). To learn more about the program and see our past LDP classes, please click here.

    The LDP application is currently closed. Applications will re-open in early Spring 2025, and interested students are encouraged to attend SOF's Monday general meetings.

  • Come to our general meetings every Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM! Our general meetings and speaker series events are open to everyone, regardless of membership status or NYU college.

    Additionally, please feel free to schedule a coffee chat with any member of our E-Board. We would love to tell you more about our organization!

  • Coffee chats are an opportunity for interested students to talk with E-Board members and learn about their SOF experience in a casual setting. To schedule a coffee chat, please complete the coffee chat form above.

  • Yes, you can still apply to join SOF even if you are not a business student. Although SOF is part of Stern's Inter-Club Council, we accept students across all NYU colleges.

  • We welcome repeat applications from students who were not accepted during a previous recruitment cycle. Many of our members have applied more than once while remaining engaged with the club during the semesters they were not part of LDP.

  • SOF is an undergraduate Stern club, and we do not accept graduate students. The Leadership Development Program is open to undergraduate freshmen and sophomores.

  • No, SOF does offer general membership for attending meetings or events. The Leadership Development Program is the primary gateway to official SOF membership. All SOF members have completed the Leadership Development Program.
